2013 – 2010 Wrappings, Castings and Overlays

The images start at the present and work back in time. In 2011 I returned to working in three-dimensional assemblages. In 2010 and 2011 my involvement was centered on making clouds and creating atmosphere and content with the fluid paint.

"Virus A & B" - 2012 - 60"h.x10.5"w.x10.5"d. Every year we seem to be inundated with the possibilities of pandemic catastrophic disease. I took that notion and used it as the catalyst for this piece. The skins of paint applied to the hollow cast cement balls represent microscopic suggestions of bacteria.
"The Tree of Inheritance" - 2012 - 7'h.x4'w.x4'd. - Paintskins wrapped on welded steel and recycled bicycle parts.
"Eye Of The Storm" - 2011 - 37"h.x35"w. Inlaid and overlaid acrylic Paintskins on hardboard.
"The Eclipse" - 2011 - 73.5"h.x27.5"w. Inlaid and overlaid Paintskins on hardboard. Creating a sense of atmosphere looking downward. Waves of clouds are reflected back from the surface of the water.
"The Wasp Tower" - 2012 - 50"h.x16.5"w.x18.5"d. Wrapped and cast paint applied to a wood pedestal. The wasps are acrylic paint strips wrapped over a wire

"Rip Current" - 2010 - Base detail.
"Plein-Air-Painting" - 2011 - 34"h.x36"w. Inlaid and overlaid skins of acrylic paint on hardboard. The concept itself is a parody in relationship to an art style.
